Gol Gumbaz or Gol Gumbadh
The structure is composed of a cube, 47.5 meters (156 ft) on each side, capped by a dome 44 m (144 ft) in external diameter. "Eight intersecting arches created by two rotated squares that create interlocking pendentives " support the dome. At each of the four corners of the cube, is a dome-capped octagonal tower seven stories high with a staircase inside. The upper floor of each opens on to a round gallery which surrounds the dome. Inside the mausoleum hall, is a square podium with steps on each side. In the middle of the podium, a cenotaph slab on the ground marks the actual grave below, "the only instance of this practice" in the architecture of the Adil Shahi Dynasty. In the middle of the north side, "a large semi-octagonal bay" protrudes out. With an area of 1,700 m2 (18,000 sq ft), the mausoleum has one of the biggest single chamber spaces in the world.Running around the inside of the dome is the "Whispering Gallery" where even the softest sound can be heard on the other side of the mausoleum due to the acoustics of the space. The Gol Gumbaz in Bijapur is the most popular as well as largest heritage monument in the city. This huge architectural wonder built in the medieval times is the tomb of Adil Shahi ruler Mohammed Adil Shah. The structure is designed with symmetrical features and it also called as Taj Mahal of south India. The central dome, one of the largest domes ever built in the world is the main attraction of the architecture of Gol Gumbaz. This huge tomb also hosts a mosque within it. Initially the place was used as a location for juristic procedures in Bijapur and later it was altered into one of the revered places in the city by bringing the hairs from the beard of Prophet Mohammed. It has so many attractive wooden carvings and entry for women to the palace is restricted.

Mehtar Mahal:
The Mehtar Mahal in Bijapur is one of the most beautiful palaces built in the city by Adil Shahi rulers. A Hindu Muslim mixture of architecture is used for the construction of this palace. Even though Mehtar Mahal is small in dimensions, when compared to other palaces in Bijapur, its elegance makes it one of the important monuments of Adil Shahi dynasty.
Landa Kasab
Landa Kasab is the name of a popular heritage monument in the city of Bijapur. The Landa Kasab is a huge cannon introduced to the city of Bijapur by Adil Shahi rulers. The city was famous for housing the largest cannon of the medieval times, the Malik e Maidan. Landa Kasab can be considered as the second largest gun used by Adil Shahis after the famous Malik e Maidan. Malik e Maidan, Landa Kasab, Sherzi, and Firangi were the major guns used by Adil Shahis in Bijapur.
As a part of the programs to strengthen the security of Bijapur city, Adil Shahis introduced many guns and bastions to the city. Landa Kasab is one of the 96 bastions introduced by Adil Shahis around the city of Bijapur. Sherzi bastion and Firangi bastion are other two major guns introduced in the city by Adil Shahis along with the Landa Kasab. The gun is located at the south of the Bijapur citadel and played an important role in providing safety to the ancient Bijapur city from enemies.
The weight of these huge cannon is calculated to be around 46.5 tons. This gun is believed to be built before three centuries and still seems unaffected with much damage. The quality and strength of this gun remains unaffected by the rain and weather conditions. This monument is now one of the ruins of Bijapur Empire. Due to the ineffective maintenance and protection to Landa Kasab, this monument is being avoided from the list of main heritage attractions of the Bijapur city.
